Early Motion Studies, Dodging & Burning, Compositional Framing

Early Motion Studies

As cameras got faster and faster, some photographers used the technology to study motion.  One of the early famous photographers who did this was Eadweard Muybridge who did some of the earliest motion studies at Stanford University in the 1870's.  This was precursor to motion pictures.

Darkroom dodging and burning

Dodging and burning are relatively easy concepts, but implementing them in your image can be very complicated.  Here are two videos that illustrate these two concepts.
